Definition

 

  • Play: engage in an activity for enjoyment or recreation rather than for a serious or practical purpose; take part in a sport*

  • By today’s accepted definition play is competitive sports and it is something that children do.

  • Play is considered childish rather than childlike. As a result adults usually restrain their play to watching sports or ‘playing at’ a sport such as football, golf, soccer or tennis. But ‘full out play’ that is prohibited.

  •  

  • Children are embarrassed when their parents are seen playing and adults find playing undignified.

  • There is a complete disconnect from the original intention for which the Grand Creator designed play.

When adults play they benefit themselves and the generations that follow. In America, and in other places around the world, we have become addicted to things, especially gadgets - technology. This is unhealthy at so many levels.

All Mammals Play. Mammals play to develop strong bodies, survival and social skills so they can maintain good relationships within the community. We humans are mammals, too and we have the same needs. When we dive deep however, we discover that the energy of play enables us to reConnect with our unique, original and creative Self.

Where do we begin this journey to discover this amazing gift of play. 

Tool: A good place to start is to write a gratitude list on waking. Add to it at night before sleeping. A grateful heart rest better:)
